A house built from the ground up, followed from the first interior drawing to the last piece installed. With no existing plan constraining it, the exercise was different: start from how the people were going to live and let the layout follow from there.

One language, from the entrance to the last bedroom

In a whole house done at once there is a temptation to treat each room as a separate project. We did the opposite: a short palette of materials, repeated with variations, so the house reads as one thing rather than a sequence of settings.
